About Us


Man & womanTony & Carolyn are Round Dance cuers and instructors in Springfield, MO.  They met in 2007. Each had lost their spouse and they were a perfect match for each other. They have been teaching together since 2009.

They have their own Phase II-IV club in Springfield called Twirl-A-Rounds, which meets every Tuesday evening. In addition, they host a Sunday afternoon dance each quarter, which is attended by dancers from Springfield, Joplin, and even St. Louis. They also cue at various out-of town festivals and events. They have choreographed and published over 20 dances including "I Like You," "I Love to Watch a Woman Dance," "Don’t Stop," "Just the Way You Are" and "Girl Crush." They are members of several square and round dance organizations and have held numerous leadership positions. They are currently on the Board of Directors of Roundalab. They have showcased and taught at seven National Square Dance Conventions. In 2018 they were the Vice-Chairman of Rounds for the 67th National Square Dance Convention in Kansas City.

Before retiring, Carolyn taught secondary-level English and French for twenty years and university-level English as a Second Language for ten years. In addition to dancing, she enjoys playing duplicate bridge.  Tony is a retired Master Electrician and an active Master Gardener. They both enjoy traveling.  They have one son and seven grandchildren, ages 2 to 18.
